Design Brief
Client Company: Office Supply Chain
Target Consumer: Teachers, Corporate Executives, and home office workers
Designer: Carlos Jimenez
Problem Statement: Keeping an office desk from becoming cluttered with papers, and devices such as pens, pencils, staplers, paper clips,
Design Statement: Design and model a product that will reduce the clutter that accumulates on office desks and frees up space.
Constraints:
1. Must not attach to the desk.
2. May not have a footprint that exceeds 6” depth x12” width x 10 height.
3. Must include a recessed area, a bent plastic part and have a base ¾” thick.
4. Must have a minimum of five different parts once assembled.
5. Must hold a minimum of six items.

Brainstorming
Brainstorming for this project was really easy because I already had an idea on what to create for the Desktop Organizer. So what I did was I started sketching ideas on what my desktop organizer would contain in the inside. I came up with three top ideas that I could used to be my desktop organizer. I went to Mr. Morris and I looked at his cluttered desk full of markers, pencils, erasers, paperclips, and many other disorganized things. When I observed all the mess he had my first idea was to create a rectangle with many drawers and a paper slot, but that idea was not very good because of the size constraints and the fact that paper is bigger than our size constraints. My next idea was to create a box to contain an I phone or I pod to play music but it would be to hard to create a stereo like desktop organizer. So my last idea was to create a rectangular shape organizer that holds pens, erasers, markers, and also has some drawers that will come out and can hold some of the things causing the clutter on his desk.
Developing Solution
As soon as I had done all my brainstorming I got straight on inventor to start to model what my final desktop organizer would look like. I came up with all the dimensions and I finally made the model of my final Desktop Organizer.
Seperate Parts
After I had completed the body of my desktop organizer and I next created each individual part like the drawers and the small rectangular boxes. These boxes were all placed together in the assembly making the finished and assembled desktop organizer. I also had tos create pencils, paperclips, flash drives, and markers. I assembedl everything onto my assembly when I was done making everything.
Final Model and Assembly
After about two weeks of hard work and a lot of thinking I finnally was able to assemble each individual parts onto the body of the desktop organizer.
Conclusion
With this small project I learned various things like the steps that involve in assembling parts like pencils and erasers onto an organizer like the one I completed. I did my best to create a desktop organizr that fit the neds of my client and the person who needed this so when I present them with the idea that I cam up with I hope they like it and it works for the needs that they have. I also learned the steps that are need to make bent plastic parts and also how to eliminate ideas that do not fit the requirements that are needed for the clients needs. This project started fun and difficult and it ended being fun and difficult, this project tested me in my skills in brainstorming as well as in inventor to create the piece or the idea that I had since this project began.
Prezi
After I was done with all of the designing and building I made a prezi to show my client and see if he would like it and if it fits his needs, and past his requirments. This is my prezi.
